Legacy of Compassion
The Story of Geoffrey Kihara Ndoigo and Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future
In the heart of Mogotio, Baringo County, Kenya, on April 7th, 1988, a child was born whose destiny would shape the lives of many. His name was Geoffrey Kihara Ndoigo, a beacon of hope for the underprivileged, a visionary with a heart of gold. Little did the world know that this humble beginning would give rise to a legacy of compassion that would resonate far beyond his years.
With unwavering determination and boundless compassion, Geoffrey founded Mustakabali Wetu, a community-based organization dedicated to uplifting the lives of vulnerable children. Together with his Canadian friend and philanthropist, Lisa Palmer, and four other kindred spirits, Geoffrey's vision began to take root. Through their combined efforts, Mustakabali Wetu grew to support over 20 children, providing them with education, shelter, and hope for a brighter future.
Geoffrey's vision extended beyond mere charity; he dreamt of sustainable solutions to break the cycle of poverty. He envisioned a future where agriculture would not only augment the income of his organization but also provide food security for the children under his care. Moreover, he was passionate about empowering women from rural backgrounds, recognizing them as the backbone of their communities.
Tragically, Geoffrey's journey was cut short on January 15th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that would endure through the ages. In his absence, his mother Christine Ndoigo, along with his siblings Brian, Sophie, and Lynn, along with Lisa Palmer and their friends, took up the mantle to carry forward his noble cause. Together, they vowed to transition Mustakabali Wetu into a fully-fledged NGO, ensuring its sustainability and impact for generations to come.
In honor of Geoffrey's memory, the new team of Mustakabali Wetu Our Future Foundation pledged to realize his unfulfilled dreams. They envisioned a future where Geoffrey's parcel of land in Chemogoch, Mogotio, would become a beacon of hope and opportunity. Plans were underway to establish a water pan, a school, and a home for the children, alongside sustainable agribusiness ventures and a youth leadership development center.
Throughout his life, Geoffrey touched the lives of many, extending kindness and compassion to all he encountered. His friendship with Andrea, a testament to the profound impact of his generosity, came full circle as Andrea stood by his side in his final days.
Geoffrey's legacy lives on in the hearts of his loved ones, including his wife Cecilia and their two daughters, Queen and Sheila. His passion for wildlife and environmental conservation, evident in his activism before the founding of Mustakabali Wetu, remains a guiding light for future generations.
As we reflect on the life of Geoffrey Kihara Ndoigo, let us carry forward his spirit of compassion and empathy. Let us strive to make a difference in the lives of others, just as he did, and ensure that his legacy of love and service endures for eternity. May his soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and the lives he transformed.

Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future
Lisa Anna Palmer is the Co-President of the Board of Directors, Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future. Lisa became friends with Founder, Geoffrey Kihara Ndoigo in 2021. She was so inspired by his leadership and his desire to serve the children in his community who were in great need that she offered to help him advance his noble project. First as a leadership coach and by helping with fundraisers, and then as a close collaborator and friend with a shared purpose. Lisa considered Geoffrey as a brother from far away and worked with him for nearly three years to help him clarify his vision, keep the children in school, and develop strategies to one day establish Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future as an international charitable organization. While Geoffrey's illness and eventual passing left Lisa heartbroken, she felt both humbled and honoured when Geoffrey's family asked her to collaborate with them to continue to keep Geoffrey's dream alive.
Lisa is the proud daughter of Italian immigrants. She grew up in Canada, where she currently resides with her husband, Andrew and son, Jake, along with their extended family.
In addition to volunteering for Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future, Lisa is the Founder of Light Your Leadership Inc., where she is an executive coach and entrepreneur who has been recognized with multiple awards to recognize her impact in the field of leadership development, which includes coaching, training, writing the international bestselling book, "Light A Fire In Their Hearts: The Truth About Leadership," and being the creator of the LYLTalks podcast.

Some of the success stories
Marion was born in 2006 to a single mum who does casual jobs in Mogotio Town to be able to support her family. It is very difficult for her considering that casual labour in Kenya only pays @2 - 3 USD per day. This means she can only afford to buy food for the family but cannot send her kids to School. That is why we came in to help Marion go to school three years ago. She sat for her final exams in High school in 2024, now in collage. Through the years, Marion has really transformed into a confident and happy young woman. She has found a real sense of belonging since we've taken her under our wings.

Zaid was born in July of 2018 to a single mother in Mogotio Town. Sadly, Zaid's mother passed away in March of 2022, leaving Zaid an orphan to be raised by his grandmother, who is very ill. Weintervened and started helping him. It's been very difficult working with Zaid, as he often asks about when his Mom will return home to be with him. We are working hard to ensure that despite all this pain. hardship, and heartbreak, that Zaid has a chance to grow up to be a happy, successful, and confident young man. Zaid is now in grade 3.

Patrick was born in the Makongeni area of Mogotio to a single mother of five. He was brought up through serious hardship, and he grew up in a very tough environment, where his mum was working in a farm planting and harvesting sisal and had to turn to other means. No matter how hard she tried, she still could not afford to pay for her five kids to go to school. We found out that some would have to drop out, and that's how we came to support Patrick's education three years ago. Patrick is an amazing young man. He sat his final High School exams next in 2024 and now in collage.
